A molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) is a type of electrical protection device designed to automatically protect an electrical circuit from overcurrent conditions. It is commonly used in low-voltage electrical distribution systems, such as residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
The MCCB consists of a molded plastic or insulating material case housing the various internal components. These components include the operating mechanism, current-carrying contacts, trip unit, and arc extinguishing system. The case provides insulation and protection against electrical shock and environmental factors.
